The American company Activeworlds Inc. started developing the 3D client-server system in 1995. Since then, it has grown to become one of the most important developers of multi-user 3D platforms. Activeworlds Europe and Activeworlds Inc. work closely together on a number of projects.

Caligari develops immersive 3D authoring technologies for designers and animators in order to make visual web-based communication and collaboration possible. Activeworlds Europe and Caligari offer educational, home and gaming packs with trueSpace and 3D environments in which collaborative modelling can take place.
KPN (Dutch Telecoms) is our partner in a number of areas that include hosting and developing 3D environments in which work can be shared interactively.
The educational publisher Nijghversluys has recreated a learning environment in Activeworlds software to teach young people about economics in a fascinating and interactive way. An economics course has never been this much fun or memorable before!
We teamed up with the children’s writer Marcel van Driel to recreate his new book “The Fairy-Tale Detectives” in a Web World. The story environments were explored by young readers and their friends, and were featured on Dutch national TV. Marcel also works with us via his PR agency Storyville.
World Arts Media, based in Edinburgh, is an internet-based TV station dedicated to the arts and entertainment. WAM TV’s live-stream internet channel broadcasts music, art, theatre, cultural, photography, comedy and dance from around the world 24 hours a day.
